XXXX seeks a talented and conscientious technical writer to join its Systems team in a temporary capacity (for approximately three to six months). Our Systems team builds, maintains, and supports the broader firm’ s complex computer and network infrastructure. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with top technologists to promote and develop best practices across multiple documentation and communication platforms.
What you’ ll do day-to-day
A core function of this role will include collaborating with technology infrastructure and support teams to write, review, edit, and publish both internal and customer-facing documentation, announcements, and other communications. Additional responsibilities will include acting as an expert resource on the use of our content management tools and applying knowledge of internal best practices to improve Systems documentation and communications as a whole.
Who we' re looking for
The ideal candidate possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, superb editing skills, keen attention to detail, and a facility for adapting content for a variety of possible audiences. They also should excel at building relationships.
The ability to learn and apply internal writing conventions is required. Familiarity with adapting content to common style guides is a plus.
Experience with technical writing and project management is desired. Other advantageous skillsets include experience with wiki platforms (particularly Confluence), wiki markup, HTML, and CSS.
Julien graduated from Quinnipiac University with a degree in Marketing in May '18. He got into Technical Recruiting through a connection he had at The Phoenix Group, who also happens to be a Quinnipiac Alumni. Although he didn't know much about the industry, he was confident this would be a career he could succeed in.
