Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to support the administration and filing of fiduciary income tax returns.

  • Communicate with trustees on tax-related matters and provide timely updates or guidance as needed.

  • Prepare and review federal and state fiduciary income tax filings (Form 1041) using fiduciary tax software such as OneSource ProSystem fx.

  • Coordinate data collection and information sharing between internal teams and an external accounting firm to ensure smooth and accurate preparation of returns.

  • Stay current on relevant tax regulations and assist in applying updates to internal procedures.

  • Serve as a professional representative in communications with trustees, beneficiaries, and third parties regarding tax matters.

  • Help refine and improve workflows as the firm continues transitioning to an outsourced tax return preparation model.

  • Accurately track billable hours and allocate time to appropriate client matters.

  • Uphold the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive financial data.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience preparing fiduciary income tax returns.

  • In-depth familiarity with Form 1041 is essential.

  • Experience with tax software platforms such as OneSource or CCH Axcess is strongly preferred.

  • Familiarity with SEI trust administration software is a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail and high standards for accuracy and quality control.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Outlook.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.
