Job Description


Preparation of partner distribution schedules, capital and return of capital reconciliation, state property and sales/use tax filings, fixed asset depreciation schedules, and partnership tax compliance within a professional services organization specializing in financial and tax advisory services.

Role Overview
This senior financial analyst position leads the preparation of partner distributions, capital schedules, and tax filings, supporting the organization's compliance and financial reporting functions. The role involves close collaboration with tax and accounting teams to ensure accuracy, adherence to deadlines, and smooth audit processes, impacting overall operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare partner distribution schedules monthly and as needed for payroll and audit purposes
  • Maintain partner paid-in capital schedules and prepare quarterly return of capital reports
  • Reconcile intercompany general ledger accounts and manage intercompany vendor invoices
  • Assist with the preparation of state property, sales, and use tax returns on an annual or quarterly basis
  • Develop fixed asset depreciation schedules using FAS depreciation software or comparable systems (FAS or similar)
  • Calculate and enter partner deductions for retirement contributions and other tax-related withholdings
  • Compile partner address data for the accurate preparation of K-1s and other tax documentation
  • Provide relevant data and schedules for external and internal auditors during interim and year-end audits
  • Support the Tax Director with specialized tax schedules, projects, and ad hoc analysis
  • Ensure timely reporting and documentation to meet federal, state, and local tax regulations

Core Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in partnership accounting or tax preparation
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and relevant accounting software (Elite (3E), BI tools, FAS or similar depreciation software)
  • Experience with partnership tax compliance, partner distributions, and intercompany reconciliations
  • Knowledge of state and local property, sales, and use tax filings
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and process improvement
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment (minimum of 3 days/week onsite in designated office)

Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, Power Query)
  • Familiarity with tax software, accounting systems, and workflows
