Job Description
The Sr. Systems Engineer role involves developing, deploying, and maintaining technical infrastructure predominantly centered on Intel, Windows, Azure, and VMware platforms. The chosen candidate will contribute to enhancing our technical setup by engaging in projects ranging from small-scale to complex. They will also serve as a key member of the final level support team for issue escalation, conducting troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and service restoration. Additionally, they will collaborate in crafting and executing policies and procedures to ensure that system provisioning and maintenance align with company objectives, industry standards, and regulatory mandates.
Responsibilities:
- Possess a high level of technical proficiency across hardware and software domains, encompassing Microsoft Azure, IIS, EDR platforms, Windows Operating Systems (2016, 2019, 2022), TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and storage environments.
- Demonstrate expertise in Active Directory, ADFS, and Group Policy management.
- Maintain a solid working knowledge of VMware ESX.
- Exhibit strong proficiency in Microsoft Azure administration and security practices.
- Perform tasks such as operating system configuration, hardware troubleshooting, server performance optimization, and daily backups utilizing Rubrik and Azure.
- Conduct server patching, software distribution, and provisioning operations.
- Manage user accounts, privileges, and access issues across various applications.
- Install, upgrade, configure, and provide support for Windows and MS SQL server environments.
- Monitor system performance and logs, administer O365 environments, including spam filtering, and utilize Microsoft Intune for mobile device management.
- Employ scripting for task automation, administer IIS and SAN infrastructure, and oversee enterprise switches and firewalls.
- Respond promptly to system monitoring alerts and participate in on-call rotations to support a 24x7 operational environment.
- Address service tickets, troubleshoot technical issues, and liaise with service providers to ensure timely resolution.
Position Requirements:
Formal Education & Certification:
- Preferably hold Microsoft Azure, networking, storage, and virtualization certifications.
- A bachelor's degree in a technology-related field is desirable.
Personal Attributes:
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant IT experience.
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, emphasizing rapport-building, active listening, and effective questioning.
- Exhibit strong organizational skills to deliver high-quality work within defined parameters and deadlines.
