Job Description
What You’ll Do Day-to-Day:
- Enhance scalability, reliability, and observability across core infrastructure components.
- Spearhead engineering projects involving proprietary platforms such as configuration management and monitoring tools, as well as open-source and vendor solutions for orchestration and automation.
- Play an active role in incident management, delivering durable solutions to complex problems.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and mentor fellow SREs to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Skills:
- 7–10 years of in-depth Linux infrastructure experience.
- Proven ability to design scalable and resilient services.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Go or Python.
- Strong communication skills with a demonstrated capacity for cross-team collaboration.
- Skilled in debugging across hardware, virtual machines, and containerized environments.
- Expertise in monitoring, canary deployments, auto-remediation/scaling, CI/CD pipelines, provisioning, virtualization, and configuration management.
- Knowledge of GPFS is a plus.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with configuration management tools.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
- Hands-on experience with storage systems like GPFS.
- Knowledge of security best practices in infrastructure.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive practical experience in infrastructure engineering and reliability engineering.
