ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior QA Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and performance of data-driven applications and reporting systems within the organization. This role involves validating data pipelines, dashboards, and analytics solutions that support business operations. The Senior QA Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement data quality best practices, proactively identify and resolve data issues, and maintain high standards of data integrity and compliance.

This position is open at multiple locations across the United States, with competitive salary ranges based on location:

  • New York, San Francisco, Palo Alto: $140,000 to $195,000

  • Los Angeles, San Diego, Boston, Washington, D.C.: $133,000 to $186,000

  • Denver: $125,000 to $174,000

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans for data pipelines, ETL processes, and reporting solutions.

  • Validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across data sources, data warehouses, and BI tools.

  • Develop and maintain automated data validation tests using SQL and scripting languages.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into test cases and quality checks.

  • Monitor data quality metrics and proactively identify and resolve anomalies or issues.

  • Partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure data governance and compliance standards are met.

  • Perform regression testing on data models, dashboards, and reports following updates or deployments.

  • Troubleshoot and optimize data validation processes and queries for performance and scalability.

  • Support end-user testing and training for BI and reporting solutions.

  • Document QA processes, test cases, and results to ensure transparency and continuous improvement.


ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field; or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in QA or data quality engineering, focused on data analytics and BI environments.

  • Proven experience testing data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehouse solutions.

  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (examples include Snowflake, SQL Server, Redshift).

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.

  • Experience working with data visualization and BI platforms (examples include Tableau, PowerBI).

  • Proficient in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, C#, etc.).

  • Experience working in cloud environments (such as AWS or Azure) and with data pipeline tools (such as Airflow, dbt).

  • Familiarity with data validation frameworks (e.g., Great Expectations, dbt tests) is a plus.

  • Experience with specialized data platforms or ERP systems is a significant advantage.
