Role Overview
A highly skilled Senior Payroll Specialist responsible for managing end-to-end payroll functions across multiple jurisdictions. This role ensures precise payroll processing, maintains compliance with payroll regulations, and supports continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify the accuracy and reasonability of payroll data from multiple systems, including Workday, Workforce Management, and a 3E payroll platform; update payroll database for non-interface changes
  • Ensure completion, maintenance, and accurate reflection of tax forms (e.g., W-4, questionnaires) within payroll systems
  • Calculate and apply appropriate wage reporting and tax withholding consistent with employee status, location, and pay structure, including multi-state and remote work scenarios
  • Process regular and off-cycle payroll runs with high attention to detail, including auditing, reporting, and timely tax filing
  • Administer garnishments from setup through disbursement, including calculations, employee communications, and compliance
  • Track and calculate leave of absence payments, applying complex policies to ensure accurate compensation
  • Process non-cash benefits, overtime, expense reimbursements, and deductions, adhering to internal policies and applicable tax regulations
  • Research, reconcile, and ensure compliance with payroll tax obligations, including multi-jurisdictional reporting and expatriate taxation considerations
  • Provide confidential and timely support to employees and stakeholders regarding payroll, taxation, and leave matters, maintaining comprehensive documentation
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and privacy compliance (GDPR, local data protection laws)

Core Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 6+ years of multi-state and international payroll experience, supporting high-volume processing
  • Deep understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, and compliance standards
  • Proven expertise in multi-state, remote work, and expatriate payroll taxation and reporting
  • Professional certification such as APA Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
  • Experience working with integrated payroll and HR systems including Workday, Dayforce, Workforce Software, and Ascentis Payroll
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations such as GDPR, California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and similar laws
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Experience supporting global payroll and multi-currency processing
  • Knowledge of benefit administration, garnishments, and expense management workflows
  • Advanced proficiency in spreadsheets, database management, and other technical tools
