Job Description
A leading international law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Paralegal to join its dynamic legal team supporting the Intellectual Property (IP) Litigation practice. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex legal cases, collaborate closely with attorneys and paralegals, and leverage technology to enhance workflow efficiency within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Role Overview
The Senior Paralegal will play a pivotal role in managing IP litigation cases, conducting legal research, preparing court-ready documents, and overseeing discovery processes. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional capable of handling multiple projects and fostering relationships across internal teams and external resources to ensure successful case outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex IP litigation cases, including discovery requests, responses, and document production, ensuring compliance with legal procedures and client requirements
- Conduct detailed legal and factual research, analyze documents, and synthesize data to support case strategies
- Draft, review, and edit legal documents, correspondence, memoranda, and factual reports with accuracy and clarity
- Oversee case files, data management, and document organization using case management and document review systems (e.g., Relativity, Concordance, E-discovery platforms)
- Collaborate with attorneys and external counsel to coordinate discovery, document review, and production workflows
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior paralegals and administrative staff, supporting professional development
- Track billable hours, prepare detailed time entries, and maintain administrative compliance with project deadlines and firm policies
- Apply technology tools effectively to streamline case activities, including document management, legal research databases, and communication platforms (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis, Microsoft Office Suite)
- Participate in team meetings, case strategy sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives
Core Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or paralegal certification preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience as a senior paralegal in IP litigation, with trial and litigation experience strongly preferred
- Proven experience managing discovery requests, responses, and document production; familiarity with electronic discovery (eDiscovery) platforms
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent research, analytical, and data synthesis capabilities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and case management systems
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience with Intellectual Property (IP) Trial litigation and International Trade Commission (ITC) proceedings
- Knowledge of legal procedures related to patent and trademark cases
- Familiarity with legal databases such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, and eDiscovery tools
- Ability to travel domestically as needed
