The Senior Macintosh Analyst is responsible for maintaining all Macintosh computers, printers, creative servers, copiers, and all software including but not limited to, MS Office, Google Apps, Adobe Creative Suite, Apple Apps, JAMF, Universal Type Server, etc within the agency.
Major Responsibilities / Primary Functions
  • Provides support for Macintosh software and hardware computers within the agency
  • Maintains a current running hardware inventory of all equipment with asset tags assigned to employees, freelancers, temps, and interns
  • Responsible for upgrading hardware equipment, that is considered end of life
  • Creates and maintains relationships with Macintosh related software/hardware vendors, makes recommendations and or suggestions of current technology with ideas for upcoming trends
  • Supports server products related to the design and or production functions within the agency included and not limited to Adobe applications, Xinet Prepress software, Jamf, G-Suite, Filemaker pro, and video editing applications, etc.
  • Administers, and manages the Full Press, Webnative, and Flashnet / Archiware applications for production functions within the agency. Also responsible for servicing the maintenance OS and the hardware components with the 3rd party vendor IOI
  • Ensures all Macintosh related server data is backed up daily and archived. Tapes must be rotated off-site for storage with Iron Mountain
  • Plans and implements software upgrades and OS releases within the agency after testing internally
  • Supports, calibrates, and maintains color printing resources within the agency. Orders consumables for the color printers, and maintains printer inventory. Calls in equipment for repairs
  • Syncs current mail accounts for mobile devices
  • Responsible for resolving level 2 tickets within Helpdesk system with our SLA agreement
  • Manages all Crashplan synchronizing and client installs with employees laptops to assure data backups are occurring on the cloud and also on the local appliance
  • Responsible for PC/Mac computer and phone setup for internal moves
  • Helps dispose of old equipment, gather and coordinate pickup, notify finance of assets removed
  • Submit Macintosh costs forecasts to IT Manager for inclusion in annual IT Budget
  • Coordinates requested training on Macintosh related products for all Macintosh employees
  • Manages, maintains, distributes, and testing of all Jamf based items for the agency equipment
  • Organizes and helps maintain font related software and font purchases for the agency. Adhering to the font guidelines and regulations of each purchase
  • Responsible to plan and implement strategic goals in relation to Macintosh software, hardware, and desktop publishing related activities
  • Set up, supports, and administers all Macintosh servers hardware and software
  • Acts as a main point person for Macintosh related projects
Qualifications, Distinguishing Characteristics and Special Requirements
  • Bachelor’ s degree or advanced industry related experience preferred
  • Advanced Advertising related experience preferred
  • 4-5 years of experience supporting Adobe Creative Suite applications
  • 4-5 years of experience maintaining and supporting Macintosh hardware and software
  • Experience in the printing field or web development is preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure in a creative environment
  • Excellent customer service skills, able to juggle workload and prioritize projects
  • Ability to interact with internal and external clients at a variety of levels and across functions
  • A proven track record of gaining trust and respect by consistently demonstrating sound critical thinking skills and maintaining composure in stressful situations
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees
  • Highly organized with a keen sense of attention to detail
  • Exceptional initiative, attention to detail and follow through skills
  • Able to move large objects such as desktop computers and monitors with no additional help. Able to access computer hardware no matter location; fine motor skills or minor repairs of computer equipment
