Job Description
The Senior IT Systems Engineer will report to the Service Delivery Manager and will be responsible for the following:
- Infrastructure Management: Design, develop, and maintain client infrastructure while recommending continuous improvements and innovations.
- System Administration: Oversee Windows, Linux, and MacOS environments across on-premises and cloud platforms (Entra, Azure, VMware, AWS).
- Network Management: Configure and maintain network components, including firewalls, routers, switches, and servers.
- Cybersecurity & Compliance: Ensure alignment with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST) and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, GDPR), improving security posture and mitigating risks.
- Security Systems Deployment: Implement and manage enterprise security solutions such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, SASE, and VPN.
- Incident Response: Address cybersecurity threats, enforce security policies, and collaborate to maintain system integrity.
- Endpoint Management: Administer and maintain endpoint strategies using Active Directory (AAD/AD), Group Policy, and Microsoft Intune.
- Process Automation: Develop automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency, minimize manual interventions, and ensure consistent configurations.
- Technical Support: Provide second and third-level support for software, systems, networking, and security-related issues.
- Training & Collaboration: Conduct training sessions, cross-train team members, and collaborate with staff on best practices.
- Leadership & Documentation: Lead technical discussions, document solutions, and translate business needs into technical requirements.
- Client Engagement: Coordinate with clients to ensure systems remain updated and operational.
- Ticketing & Tracking: Log time and expenses using a centralized ticketing system.
- Proficiency in managing Windows, Linux, and MacOS systems, including virtualization across on-premises and cloud platforms (Entra, Azure, VMware, AWS).
- Mid-level knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory compliance standards (HIPAA, GDPR, NIST).
- Experience with scripting languages (Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell) and API integration.
- Ability to plan, manage, and prioritize multiple projects, ensuring timely completion.
- Strong documentation skills for creating repeatable procedures.
- Effective in both independent work and team collaboration.
- Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills with strong situational awareness.
- Self-motivated with a continuous learning mindset.
- Associate degree (or higher) in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum of 5 years in systems, networking, or security engineering/administration.
