Job Description
What You’ll Do Day-to-Day:
- Design, implement, and maintain large-scale compute infrastructure across multiple global sites.
- Manage and optimize Linux operating systems, focusing on workload scheduling, fleet management, clustered filesystems, and Linux kernel/network performance tuning for ultra-low latency and high throughput.
- Develop and enhance dev tooling, automation pipelines, CI/CD processes, and system integrations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex issues using advanced diagnostic and tracing tools.
- Conduct data analysis to monitor system metrics and recommend improvements for reliability and performance.
- Support HPC environments, large-scale storage architectures, and network protocol configurations to meet evolving requirements.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in Linux system engineering, with a proven track record supporting high-performance, low-latency environments.
- Expert-level knowledge of Linux OS configuration and tuning.
- Strong scripting and development skills in Python; experience with Rust, C, or Go is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with automated build systems, deployment processes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency with diagnostic, tracing, and troubleshooting tools.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of working effectively across diverse teams.
- Experience with distributed systems, HPC, large-scale storage solutions, and detailed network protocol understanding.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with workload schedulers, clustered filesystems, and kernel/network tuning for latency-sensitive applications.
- Familiarity with financial trading infrastructure or similar high-frequency, mission-critical systems.
- Knowledge of containerization, orchestration, and cloud environments.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
- 10 to 20 years of relevant technical experience in Linux systems engineering, preferably within finance or high-tech sectors.
