Pricing Analyst

Job Description

Oversee and continuously update internal resources related to billing rates, pricing options, and alternative fee arrangements.

Review client expectations and outside counsel requirements, alerting attorneys and relevant teams when actions are needed and helping establish safeguards related to client policies.

Examine financial performance data for existing matters to better understand value, efficiency, and realization.

Build financial scenarios and analytical models to evaluate profitability, assess potential outcomes of pricing strategies, and contribute to the design of innovative pricing structures—including non-traditional fee models.

Support the creation and maintenance of pricing tools, databases, and standardized budget templates by conducting research and analyzing historical engagements to determine cost ranges.

Monitor developments and trends in the legal pricing space and apply new concepts to strengthen the firm’s pricing practices.

Serve as a primary contact for the team overseeing Matter Management/Legal Project Management initiatives.

Communicate directly with clients when needed and assist with additional projects as they arise.

Strong financial analysis capabilities with the ability to produce clear, useful reporting for leadership evaluating pricing performance and financial outcomes.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Exceptional organizational abilities, including managing significant amounts of data, juggling multiple deadlines, handling shifting priorities, and coordinating concurrent projects.

High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with the ability to quickly learn additional financial or budgeting platforms.

Familiarity with legal operations, financial systems, and billing processes.

Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with attorneys and business professionals at all levels.

A proactive, independent working style and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with in-office and virtual teams.

Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.

3+ years of experience in financial analysis or within a professional services environment (preferred).

3+ years of experience developing and using financial models, ideally within the legal industry, with an understanding of alternative or non-hourly pricing approaches
