Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Support attorneys in patent prosecution by preparing and filing patent applications, responding to office actions, and handling other related documentation.
- Collaborate with the docketing department to manage and update patent dockets, ensuring timely filings and responses to meet deadlines.
- Prepare and file PCT and international patent applications.
- Coordinate communication with clients, patent offices, and foreign associates.
- Assist in drafting legal documents, including assignments, declarations, and priority documents.
- Organize and maintain both electronic and physical patent files.
- Provide general administrative assistance to the patent team as required.
- Stay informed on updates in patent law and industry best practices.
- Paralegal certificate from an accredited institution.
- 6-10+ years of paralegal experience, with a focus on patent law.
- In-depth knowledge of patent prosecution processes.
- Experience with software tools such as docketing systems; familiarity with large, guideline clients is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities and exceptional attention to detail.
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and patent-specific databases.
