Job Description
The Network Engineer serves as a senior technical specialist responsible for architecting, deploying, and supporting secure, scalable, and high-performance network solutions for clients. This role requires expertise in network design, advanced troubleshooting, and technical leadership to ensure all environments align with security, compliance, and client expectations. Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Engineering
- Design and implement advanced network, cloud, and identity solutions aligned with BTS standards.
- Provide architectural guidance for modernization and integration initiatives.
- Evaluate and enhance system design, security posture, and lifecycle strategies.
- Apply secure-by-design principles across all engineering work.
- Act as the final escalation point for complex troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex projects, including planning, deployment, and post-implementation review.
- Define project scope, architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and success criteria.
- Mentor team members and provide technical oversight on multi-technician projects.
- Collaborate with leadership to align technical delivery with client expectations.
- Develop and maintain engineering SOPs, runbooks, and best-practice templates.
- Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and service offerings.
- Network architecture design and deployment for remote and on-site environments.
- Secure network implementation across multi-tenant environments.
- WAN/VPN/SD-WAN: Site-to-site and remote-access VPNs, SASE solutions.
- Wi-Fi design and optimization (coverage, capacity, channel planning, segmentation).
- Proficiency with VLANs, trunking, STP, LACP, routing protocols.
- Network monitoring and troubleshooting using NMS tools.
- Expertise in diagnosing latency, packet loss, QoS, and bandwidth issues.
- Ability to maintain accurate network topology and data flow documentation.
- Strong experience in enterprise or multi-tenant environments.
- Experience: 5+ years in network engineering or systems administration (minimum 1 year in multi-tenant environments).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Certifications: CCNA or equivalent preferred.
