Job Description
The Litigation Technology Project Manager oversees technical case coordination and provides technical services throughout the lifecycle of assigned cases. This role ensures client satisfaction by managing eDiscovery processes, collaborating with internal and external teams, and driving operational initiatives to enhance and standardize processes while adhering to client guidelines and firm standards.
Responsibilities Case Management and Client Coordination
- Act as the primary contact for case teams, ensuring client needs are addressed.
- Develop and manage case cost projections in partnership with the eDiscovery Senior Project Manager. Offer guidance on optimizing efficiencies and cost reductions.
- Coordinate technical tasks with vendors, contractors, and temporary personnel, ensuring quality control across all technical aspects of eDiscovery projects.
- Oversee data management through EDRM phases, ensuring accurate handling and processing.
- Communicate effectively with case teams to resolve client inquiries, issues, and requests.
- Collaborate with production teams to allocate resources appropriately based on deadlines.
- Lead the planning and execution of internal operational initiatives aimed at process improvement and standardization.
- Record and manage billable time for assigned cases, ensuring accurate billing in systems.
- Monitor and manage case team deadlines, client/matter request queues, and the status of tasks performed by other departments.
- Document eDiscovery project plans, including workflows, role assignments, estimates, timelines, and process improvements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure quality control and consistency in eDiscovery systems.
- Apply knowledge of eDiscovery software, litigation logistics, client needs, and vendor selection to plan and deliver effective IT support for each case.
- Collaborate with Senior Project Managers to design, maintain, and manage eDiscovery databases and associated data collections.
- Assist in evaluating new software or processes and implement necessary training programs for legal teams.
- Support case teams and attorneys with onboarding, operating, and troubleshooting eDiscovery database platforms.
- Manage daily eDiscovery project tasks, working closely with attorneys, paralegals, and IT staff.
- Develop eDiscovery data processing and production specifications to comply with legal requirements.
- Oversee data management through EDRM phases and coordinate with internal/external teams for data loading, tagging, processing, and production.
- Work with litigation, IT, and legal teams to develop, manage, and automate technical components of trial preparation.
- Delegate tasks to vendors and internal resources as needed.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure the accuracy and completeness of job instructions and final deliverables. Create innovative solutions to address issues and enhance processes.
- Assist in creating privilege logs and efficiently handle data collection, processing, review, and production.
- Analyze information from various sources to develop solutions for complex problems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
