Job Description
Key Duties and Responsibilities Summary:
- Prepares, edits, and finalizes legal documents, following Firm guidelines.
- Manages multiple lawyer assignments and organizes clerical tasks efficiently.
- Oversees client onboarding, including conflict checks and billing setup.
- Enters and proofreads lawyer time entries to ensure billing compliance.
- Coordinates travel arrangements and processes expense reports.
- Proofreads all documents for accuracy in content and format.
- Handles phone calls and messages, and schedules calls using audio/video software.
- Manages mail distribution, meetings, and conference arrangements.
- Maintains calendars, contacts, and client information.
- Coordinates tasks across departments and manages client billing.
- Keeps workspaces organized and maintains client files accurately.
- Performs additional duties as assigned and participates in Firm training and meetings.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three or more years of relevant work experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, legal terminology, and standard document formatting.
- Ability to type accurately at a minimum speed of 60 wpm.
- Strong understanding of civil litigation discovery and docketing procedures.
- Experience with State and Federal court filings, including Electronic Case Filing (ECF).
- Proven experience working collaboratively with support staff.
