Job Description
Title: Legal Secretary (Trusts & Estates focus)
Type: Full-time, non-exempt (eligible for overtime)
Hours: 35-hour work week On site M-F in West Hartford
Salary Range: $55,000 – $70,000 (DOE)
PTO: 25 days/year
Key Responsibilities

Support Staff: Assist one Associate attorney and three Fiduciary Accountants

Administrative Duties:

Manage high volume of email communications

Maintain and monitor calendars

Coordinate client meetings and ensure all documentation is ready

Prepare and maintain client binders (both paper and electronic)

Transcribe, draft, and proofread legal correspondence and documents
Client Interaction:
Arrange Notary services for signings
Communicate with clients and referrals
Maintain accurate and updated contact information
Legal and Billing Systems:
Enter attorney time in Aderant (or Time Expert)
Assist with monthly billing
Other:
Handle special projects as assigned
Work overtime when needed
Preferred Qualifications

Education: College degree preferred

Experience: Prior experience in Trusts & Estates strongly preferred

Technical Skills:
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat

Familiarity with Aderant or Time Expert

Experience with Trust and Estate tax returns or Turbo Court filings is a plus

Excellent verbal and written communication
Ability to multitask and prioritize independently
Strong work ethic and respect for confidentiality
Team-oriented, but self-motivated
