Job Description
Key Responsibilities:

Act as a subject matter expert on court rules and procedures, providing guidance to attorneys and support staff.

Manage the preparation and electronic filing of legal documents in federal, state, and local courts, primarily in NY and NJ, with occasional filings in other jurisdictions.

Review all filings to ensure compliance with court-specific formatting and procedural requirements.

Monitor and stay up-to-date on court rule changes, proactively communicating updates to legal teams.

Serve as the primary contact for complex docketing and calendaring matters spanning multiple jurisdictions.

Develop and implement best practices to minimize risk associated with missed deadlines or filing errors.

Train, mentor, and coordinate with litigation assistants and docketing personnel to ensure procedural consistency and adherence to filing deadlines.

Maintain thorough records of court filings, docket entries, and notices, ensuring billable time is properly captured in alignment with team protocols.

Collaborate closely with the firm’s docketing team to support accurate tracking of litigation events and court appearances.
Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 7 years of experience in docketing, litigation support, or legal calendaring.

In-depth knowledge of federal and state court procedures, including electronic filing systems such as CM/ECF, PACER, and NYSCEF.

Proficiency with litigation docketing and calendar management tools, such as CourtAlert, CompuLaw, or American LegalNet.

Strong understanding of litigation processes and workflows with proven experience leading teams in high-pressure, deadline-driven environments.

Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Demonstrated accuracy in tracking, managing, and billing court filings.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Collaborative leadership style with the ability to motivate and support cross-functional teams.
