Job Description
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with legal recruiters and HR to gather conflict information for potential lateral attorney hires and support staff.
- Conduct conflict checks and provide assessments of findings.
- Utilize internal and external databases for research.
- Assist attorneys in identifying and resolving conflicts of interest.
- Generate, analyze, and interpret conflict search results.
- Work closely with the Manager, firm lawyers, and staff to resolve lateral hire conflict issues efficiently.
- Keep internal teams informed about new hire clearance status.
- Support various conflict resolution and clearance requests.
- Provide evening and weekend coverage for urgent conflict checks as needed.
- Take on additional responsibilities as required.
- The role requires 60% in-office presence, with 40% remote work allowed.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; JD preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years in law firm conflicts analysis or legal practice.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of ethical, legal, and risk management rules; willingness to learn substantive law.
- Technical Skills: Experience with conflicts software (e.g., Intapp Open); database proficiency; familiarity with online research tools (Cap IQ, Lexis/Nexis); knowledge of Elite 3E preferred.
- Analytical & Communication Skills: Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and presentation abilities; excellent written and verbal communication.
- Organization & Judgment: Ability to manage multiple projects, use discretion in decision-making, and provide excellent customer service.
- Interpersonal Skills: Professional, responsive, and able to build trust with attorneys and staff.
- Work Ethic: Strong sense of urgency, highly responsive, and able to work independently or in a team.
