Role Overview
An accomplished Intapp Applications Engineer responsible for the administration, configuration, and strategic development of enterprise legal technology ecosystems, including core platforms for conflicts, risk management, and matter management. This role drives platform stability, security, and innovation, supporting legal and IT stakeholders through technical expertise and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical owner and subject matter expert for enterprise legal applications including Intapp Open, Conflicts, Walls, Terms, Integration Builder, and Workspaces.
- Administer daily platform operations: user and role management, system health monitoring, data integrity, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
- Manage platform upgrades, patches, and release cycles aligned with vendor schedules and internal change management policies.
- Develop and maintain detailed architecture diagrams, runbooks, support documentation, and configuration baselines.
- Oversee system integrations, ensuring seamless connectivity with related applications such as document management, HR systems, Active Directory, and legal management tools.
- Design, build, and maintain workflows, forms, datasets, and rules within Intapp Open, Conflicts, Walls, and other modules using native configuration tools.
- Develop, test, and deploy enhancements leveraging SQL queries, API integrations, web services, FTP, and database connections to support operational reporting and matter workflows.
- Lead cloud migration initiatives from on-premise platforms to cloud environments, including planning, data migration, testing, and cutover.
- Explore and recommend new platform capabilities, AI features, and third-party integrations to advance firm risk management and operational efficiency.
- Build and maintain a multi-year strategic platform roadmap aligned with firm IT and legal operations goals.
- Collaborate with legal operations, conflicts, risk management, and legal teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations to leadership regarding system improvements, risks, and technology investments.
- Support user training, software QA processes, and documentation development.
- Work closely with IT security teams on data governance, access controls, and compliance within the legal technology environment.
- Follow IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices, including incident, problem, and change management using designated ticketing platforms.
Core Qualifications & Requirements
- 7+ years of IT experience with in-depth expertise in enterprise application administration and engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience supporting and configuring enterprise legal applications, especially Intapp suite modules (Open, Conflicts, Walls, Terms).
- At least 3 years of experience with Intapp Integration Builder or comparable middleware platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi, Power Automate).
- Proven experience in cloud migration projects, including moving from on-premise to SaaS/cloud platforms.
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, system integration, and workflow automation within legal tech environments.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts to non-technical legal and business stakeholders.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work independently in a fast-paced setting.
- Knowledge of data security, governance principles, and compliance standards relevant to legal and enterprise environments.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Prior experience at top-tier law firms or large professional services organizations.
- Certification in Intapp or equivalent legal technology products.
- Familiarity with legal management systems such as Elite 3E, iManage, or other law firm ERP systems.
- Experience with legal workflows related to New Business Intake and Conflict processes.
- Exposure to legal AI tools and knowledge of Intapp AI/Assist features.
- Experience with ITSM tools like ServiceNow or Cherwell.
