Job Description

Monitor and analyze security alerts, logs, and events to detect and respond to threats.

Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify security weaknesses.

Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices in alignment with legal industry standards (e.g., ABA cybersecurity guidelines, NIST, ISO 27001).

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, and other client-specific security mandates.

Investigate security incidents, perform forensic analysis, and coordinate incident response efforts.

Collaborate with IT teams to secure networks, servers, and cloud-based environments.

Manage security awareness training programs for attorneys, staff, and other stakeholders.

Evaluate, implement, and manage security tools such as firewalls, SIEM systems, endpoint protection, and encryption solutions.

Maintain and update security documentation, including policies, risk assessments, and incident reports.

Work closely with legal teams to support client audits, security questionnaires, and contract security requirements.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Certifications (Preferred): CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, Security+, or equivalent.

Experience: 3+ years in cybersecurity, preferably within a law firm or a highly regulated industry.

Strong knowledge of legal industry security frameworks, compliance standards, and best practices.

Proficiency in security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, SIEM, and endpoint protection.

Experience with forensic analysis, malware detection, and security incident response.

Ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical staff and attorneys.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

High level of integrity, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information.
