IT Support Specialist (Contract to Hire)

Job Description
You’ll serve as a first-line point of contact for internal tech support, handling hardware/software hiccups, user questions, and project support. Beyond the help desk, this role touches on internal documentation, system maintenance, and contributes to ongoing IT initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Assist firm members with tech concerns face-to-face, over the phone, or digitally
- Escalate high-priority issues appropriately and reassign as needed
- Troubleshoot common and advanced software/hardware issues
- Provide answers and guidance using documented resources
- Adhere to established support processes, offering improvement suggestions
- Accurately record support activity in the internal ticketing system
- Contribute ideas for operational efficiency
- Collaborate on firmwide technology initiatives
- Engage in both structured and informal training/knowledge sharing
- Maintain professional and constructive user relationships
- Remain current on internal system changes and updates
Qualifications:
- 2+ yrs experience in a helpdesk/technical support role (law firm/pro services ideal)
- Degree in IS, Tech, or similar preferred — relevant experience may substitute
- Solid know-how in Win10+ OS, Office 2016/O365 tools
- Experience with Outlook/O365 email setup and support
- Familiarity with PC imaging & deployment tools (e.g. Intune)
- Skilled with smartphones (iOS/Android), printers (HP), MDM solutions
- Capable of user account management in Active Directory
- Comfortable in team settings and solo tasks
- Awareness of VOIP phone systems, basic networking, and DMS (iManage)
- Exposure to tools like Kofax, Adobe Acrobat, Litera, CRM systems
- Confident using VC tools: Zoom, WebEx, MS Teams, etc.
- Ticketing system experience required
- VMWare/virtual environments = bonus
