Job Description

Our client, a prestigious law firm, is seeking an IP/Trademark Legal Secretary to join their team! 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Draft, prepare, and format correspondence, memos, and legal documents as instructed.
  • Review, proofread, and edit legal documents to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Conduct trademark investigations related to adverse parties and provide detailed findings.
  • Communicate with clients and the trademark team regarding deadlines, filings, and case updates.
  • Organize and maintain client files, ensuring proper transmission of physical documents to the records department.
  • Develop spreadsheets and project trackers to monitor team assignments and client requests effectively.
  • Collaborate with the docketing specialist to confirm deadlines are accurately calendared and met.
  • Handle sensitive information with confidentiality while maintaining data accuracy and integrity.
  • Perform conflicts checks using the electronic intake system and draft engagement letters as needed.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, conferences, and travel arrangements for attorneys.
  • Prepare and submit monthly expense reports on behalf of attorneys.
  • Take on additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned to support the team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a legal secretary, specifically in trademark law
  • Comprehensive understanding of trademark procedures, terminology, and concepts
  • Proficiency in Federal court rules and civil procedures, including e-filing expertise
  • Familiarity with Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) filing procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume intellectual property workload
  • Advanced skills in MS Office Suite and legal document management software
