Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Researches accounting and taxation issues for a growing international business.
- Works with third-party tax advisors on the Partnership’s annual tax filings, including Form 1065, Form K-1s, state composite returns, and other related entity returns.
- Prepares UK VAT returns and state/local tax returns such as sales and use tax, property tax, and occupancy tax.
- Handles the quarterly and annual bank Covenant Compliance package.
- Computes estimated Partner earnings, prepares quarterly distributions, and manages financial communications with Partners for quarterly estimated tax payments.
- Addresses IRS and state inquiries and notices, helping Partners with compliance issues and performing tax research and planning for U.S. and foreign tax purposes.
- Coordinates and allocates quarterly estimated tax payments to state and local jurisdictions, ensuring accurate Partner distribution and compliance.
- Manages Partner financial records, including capital account reconciliations and retirement contribution records.
- Assists auditors with Partner Capital information for audits and financial statement creation.
- Documents and updates all Partner accounting processes and assists with firm property tax returns and fixed asset depreciation schedules.
Qualifications
- In-depth understanding of U.S. tax laws and GAAP principles.
- Strong communication skills for effectively presenting information to Partners, attorneys, accounting firms, and consultants.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with enterprise-level accounting software.
- Ability to handle complex financial matters and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to stay current with accounting and taxation regulations and trends.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (equivalent experience may be considered).
- CPA designation required.
