Job Description
Responsibilities
• Prepare pleadings initiating an estate or guardianship court proceeding
• Monitor and maintain files for estate administration, trust administration and guardianship
• Review estate planning, will and trust documents
• Prepare trust administration documents (i.e., acceptances of trustees, resignations and declinations
of trustees, etc.)
• Prepare trust and estate accounting
• Draft memorandums and correspondences
• Manage communication amongst attorneys, clients, beneficiaries and family members
• Monitor trust and estate accounts, including payment of monthly expenses of an trust or estate
• Research asset and debt information for trusts and estates
• Prepare deeds, transfer of vehicles, brokerage accounts and distributions in cash for the transfer of
assets to beneficiaries
• Assemble necessary documents for a trust and estate administration tax return (i.e., estate tax,
income tax and gift tax returns; collaborate on preparation of the tax return
• Estate and guardianship legal research pertaining to issues
• Locate beneficiaries of trust or estate, when necessary
Qualifications
• Three (3) years of Paralegal experience
• Probate, trust administration matters and estate settlement experience
