Job Title: Probate Fiduciary Accountant
Location: Greenwich, CT (Office Position)

Job Description
The Probate Fiduciary Accountant is responsible for assisting with various estate, trust, and guardianship administration tasks. This role involves a range of duties and may be expanded through delegation by an Attorney or the Office Administrator.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estate & Guardianship Proceedings:
  • Prepare pleadings to initiate estate or guardianship court proceedings.
  • Monitor and maintain files for estate, trust, and guardianship administration.
  • Document Preparation & Review:
  • Review estate planning, will, and trust documents.
  • Prepare trust administration documents (e.g., acceptances of trustees, resignations, and declinations of trustees).
  • Prepare trust and estate accounting reports.
  • Communication & Coordination:
  • Draft memorandums and correspondence.
  • Manage communication among attorneys, clients, beneficiaries, and family members.
  • Monitor trust and estate accounts, ensuring payment of monthly expenses.
  • Asset & Debt Research:
  • Research asset and debt information for trusts and estates.
  • Prepare deeds, transfers of vehicles, brokerage accounts, and distributions to beneficiaries.
  • Tax & Legal Support:
  • Assemble documents for estate and trust tax returns (e.g., estate tax, income tax, and gift tax returns).
  • Collaborate with the team on tax return preparation.
  • Conduct estate and guardianship legal research.
  • Locate beneficiaries of trusts or estates when necessary. 
  • Qualifications & Compensation
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Degree in Business Administration preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of Paralegal experience.
    • Experience in probate, trust administration, and estate settlement matters.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask effectively, and manage time efficiently.
    • Team player with a collaborative attitude.
    • Salary: $120,000-$150,000 (Dependent on experience).
    • Competitive benefits package.
    • Exempt role (not eligible for overtime).
    • Paid Time Off (PTO): 25 days in the first year, 30 days thereafter.
    • Work schedule: 37½ hours per week.
