Job Description

Our client, a top US Law Firm, is seeking a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Manager to join their team in Boston or New York!  Key Responsibilities

  • Equity & Inclusion Initiatives: Collaborate with DEI, Professional Development (PD), Business Development (BD), and EAC teams to advance equity initiatives across the firm.

  • Program Coordination: Oversee BD and PD functions for Partners and Associates in EAC programs, such as the EAC Academy.

  • Professional Development Support: Facilitate counseling, coaching, training, and sponsorship opportunities.

  • Business Development Support: Work closely with the BD team, including the DEI BD Manager, to provide training and coaching.

  • Data & Strategy Management: Maintain records of strategies, meeting notes, feedback, and lessons learned.

  • Program Oversight: Manage teams responsible for EAC Academy deliverables and curricula, ensuring steady progress.

  • Logistics & Coordination: Handle scheduling, agendas, minutes, and other meeting logistics for EAC and EAC Academy.

  • Attorney Engagement: Build trust and relationships with attorneys, particularly attorneys of color, women, non-binary, and LGBTQ+ attorneys.

  • Network Development: Establish strong internal (mentors, sponsors) and external (coaches, consultants) networks to support EAC initiatives.

  • EAC Academy Leadership: Play a central role in running the year-long EAC Academy program for select partners.

  • Budget Management: Oversee and manage the EAC budget.

  • Travel & On-Site Presence: Travel to firm offices as needed; 60% in-office presence required, with 40% remote flexibility.

  • Additional Responsibilities: Take on other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Summary

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree required; JD or advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 7 years of experience in professional or business development, ideally in a law firm or professional services setting.

  • Commitment to Equity & Inclusion: Proven dedication to fostering diversity, equity, and belonging.

  • Leadership & Team Coordination: Ability to coordinate and lead complex teams supporting attorneys of color, women, non-binary, and LGBTQ+ attorneys.

  • Influence & Relationship Building: Strong ability to engage, influence, and motivate individuals across all levels of seniority.

  • Project & Time Management: Skilled at prioritizing multiple projects in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.

  • Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze, interpret, and present data effectively.

  • Problem-Solving & Innovation: A proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

  • Collaboration & Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to foster trust and teamwork.

  • Confidentiality & Professionalism: High level of discretion, diplomacy, and ethical integrity in handling sensitive information.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong command of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and presentation tools (e.g., Power BI), with the ability to adapt to new software.

  • Leadership & Employee Development: Demonstrated ability to mentor, develop, and manage teams, including experience in employee relations, performance improvement, and transitions.
