Data Engineer
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
-
Build and maintain BI solutions leveraging Microsoft’s data stack

Apply industry best practices for dimensional data modeling, especially star schema design
-
Integrate and interpret data across multiple platforms including SQL Server and Tabular models
-
Develop scalable data workflows using tools within the Azure ecosystem (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, SQL DB)
-
Partner with stakeholders to translate business questions into effective data solutions
-
Simplify complex information into actionable insights for business leaders
-
Strengthen internal data collaboration through strong relationships with cross-functional teams
-
Support governance efforts to enhance data architecture and quality
-
Monitor industry trends and propose improvements or enhancements to the current data strategy
Qualifications & Competencies
-
5+ years of experience delivering enterprise-level BI or data engineering solutions
-
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience)

Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, ELT processes, and data architecture principles

Familiarity with cloud-first platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, or Azure Databricks for big data analytics

Proficient in T-SQL and capable of designing high-performance queries

Deep understanding of SDLC processes and working in agile teams

Comfortable interacting with colleagues across departments and seniority levels

Able to operate independently while being receptive to leadership direction

Skilled at distilling and articulating both technical and business aspects of data workflows

Adept at learning new technologies and applying them effectively

Exceptional time management, multitasking, and self-motivation
