Job Description


We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive professional Legal Assistant for our Washington, D.C. office. Experience working with different practice groups is welcomed, but candidates must have a  primary focus on litigation. The right candidate should demonstrate resourcefulness and initiative, a desire to forge powerful relationships, hone their skills and deliver excellent work.

Responsibilities:
  • Support attorneys in connection with all aspects of case management and document production, heavy document editing, proofreading and finalizing legal documents in Microsoft Word.
  • E-filing in state, federal and appellate courts.
  • Maintain attorney calendars, schedule meetings and conferences, enter billable time and process expense reports.
  • Update electronic records, upload documents, and run reports.
  • Adept at using all of Microsoft’s Office tools.
  • Maintain and organize case files, organize paper and electronic documents for use in depositions or trials.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of legal experience.
  • Litigation experience required.
  • Exceptional technical skills required including knowledge of MS Word, MS Outlook, Adobe Professional, and electronic document management.
  • Ideal candidate will have strong organizational, communication and client service skills.
  • Ability to switch gears and manage multiple, competing expectations.
  • Must be a team player, with strong communication skills and a solid work ethic.
  • Must be detailed oriented. Excellent grammar and spelling skills are essential.  
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment are essential.
