Job Description

Our client, a prestigious law firm, is seeking a Client Accounting Specialist to join their team! 

Responsibilities: 
  • Oversee client and matter setup to ensure compliance with engagement letters and billing guidelines.
  • Maintain billing instructions and update client and matter records as needed.
  • Monitor work in progress to ensure timely and accurate invoicing.
  • Coordinate prebills and ensure they are reviewed and processed on schedule.
  • Process billing adjustments, including edits, write-downs, transfers, and discounts.
  • Audit invoices for accuracy before finalizing and posting.
  • Manage attorney and client deadlines related to billing and accruals.
  • Track accounts receivable and implement collection strategies.
  • Resolve client disputes and research misapplied payments.
  • Maintain accurate billing records and ensure proper documentation.
  • Communicate regularly with attorneys and clients to facilitate smooth billing and collections processes.
  • Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Capable of managing complex accounts with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to assess different courses of action and evaluate potential impacts.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with attorneys, staff, and clients.
  • Adaptability to business changes and evolving workplace dynamics.
  • Ability to efficiently prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Strong collaborative and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
