Billing Compliance Analyst (NYC)

Job Description


Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all firm-wide billing is processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with client billing guidelines and internal procedures.
  • Review and audit new and existing matters to confirm compliance with firm requirements, utilizing appropriate billing system matter codes.
  • Collaborate with Conflicts, Terms, Pricing, eBilling, Time, and Collections teams to ensure matters are opened in accordance with firm standards.
  • Support ongoing process improvements within Intapp Open and Intapp Time.
  • Participate in projects focused on maintaining matter compliance with client billing guidelines.
  • Conduct audits and initiatives to enhance Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCG) compliance.
  • Communicate with billing attorneys and Client Service Specialists (CSSs) regarding adherence to client billing requirements.
  • Respond to billing-related inquiries from attorneys, CSSs, clients, and internal teams; prepare and deliver requested billing reports.
  • Partner with Financial Services to support billing system updates and upgrade initiatives.
  • Manage additional related projects as assigned.

 

Proficiencies:
  • Advanced proficiency with Windows-based and web-based accounting systems, particularly legal billing platforms (Elite).
  • Advanced experience with document management systems, including WorkSite, FileSite, DeskSite, and Equitrac.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial forecasting tools (e.g., targetCash).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.

 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance (preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience with financial systems (required).
  • 3-5 years of general accounting experience (required).
  • 3-5 years of legal billing experience (required).
