Application Support Manager
Job Description
- Ability to analyze firm workflow to determine which application(s) could improve efficiencies
- Act as project manager for all deployments and/or enhancement initiatives
- Responsible for coordinating with vendors and other IT resources to assist with the implementation of new software and hardware
- Provides guidance and expertise on application implementation, documentation, design and testing
- Manage and provide direction for the application team in support of firm operations
- Compile and maintain the service catalog
- Conducts research on products, services, policies, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts
- Coordinates and leads monthly after maintenance testing
- Coordinate with outsourced Service Desk to ensure firm needs are addressed
- Interacts and negotiates with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure products and services
- Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and provide input for process improvement
- Ensure adequate documentation of all strategies, processes, and procedures related to the implementation and support of the application environment.
- Assist with shaping both formal and informal IS knowledge base by creating content, ensuring quality and foster knowledge sharing among all support groups
- Ensure that applications meet firm requirements and system goals, fulfill end-user requirements, identify and resolve systems issues in a timely manner
- Work with the various practice groups to identify needs and ways that software solutions can enhance lawyer and staff productivity
- Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application-usage and best practices
- Work with the training team to ensure timely and adequate training for existing and newly deployed software applications and features
- Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new application to determine its intended functionality
- Ensure that any new software integration meets all functional requirements, compliance and user specifications, as determined by the firm
- Experience with NetDocuments – ndToolkit certification a plus
- Experience with IntApp Flow/IB/Open, Chrome River, Intellistat a plus
- Experience of financial software suite Aderant Sierra including iTimeKeep
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Commitment to cooperative team approach
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from all levels of the organization
- BS in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent work experience
- Previous experience with matter-centric computing within a legal environment preferred
