Accounting Manager

About the Opportunity
The Phoenix Group is partnering with an up-and-coming, fast-growing business that’s looking for an Accounting Manager ready to wear multiple hats, create and implement processes, and grow alongside their team.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys both strategy and hands-on accounting work, and who thrives in a dynamic environment where they can directly impact the company’s financial operations and future growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the accounting workflow and monthly close process for a portfolio of clients.
- Supervise a team of bookkeepers (in-house and/or outsourced) to ensure adherence to firm standards and best practices.
- Review and finalize monthly financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheets, and Budget vs. Actual reports.
- Manage accounting operations for businesses with $30M+ in revenue and multiple locations or franchise structures.
- Collaborate with Fractional CFOs to interpret financials and prepare client-ready reports and presentations.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting best practices.
- Own both month-end and year-end close processes.
- Implement tools, templates, and AI-driven efficiencies that standardize reporting and streamline accounting operations.
- Respond to client and CFO inquiries quickly and accurately.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred, not required).
- Proven supervisory experience managing accounting teams or bookkeepers.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and multi-entity consolidations.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online.
- Proven track record of implementing process improvements and using technology (including AI tools) to drive efficiency.
