Job Description
Fiduciary Accountant
The Fiduciary Accountant is responsible for managing the financial and legal aspects of trust and estate administration, including tax return preparation, accountings, and documentation in accordance with applicable laws and standards.
Responsibilities
-
Identify, collect, analyze, abstract, organize, and maintain facts and documents in compliance with legal practice and procedures.

Collect and analyze financial statements and spreadsheets related to client investments.

Develop and maintain relationships with clients and internal/external personnel to obtain and clarify information, substantiate facts, and support legal actions.

Organize and maintain records and documents supporting legal and financial actions.

Assist with the analysis of legal proceedings to identify potential issues.

Develop, implement, and maintain tracking and accounting systems for client investments to facilitate preparation of U.S. trust tax returns.

Prepare U.S. federal and state death tax returns.

Prepare U.S. federal and state income tax returns for estates, testamentary trusts, and inter vivos trusts.

Prepare individual, fiduciary, partnership, and nonprofit organization tax returns.

Prepare Trust and Estate probate accountings and related filings.

Conduct trust and estate administration in accordance with legal and fiduciary standards.

Track deadlines to ensure all tax returns and accountings are filed on time or properly extended when applicable.
Qualifications
-
Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting (preferred).

5 to 10 years of experience as a Fiduciary Accountant.

Microsoft Office

Excel

Estate Val Software (EVP)

ProSystem FX
-
FastTax
Strong knowledge of Trust and Estate procedures and trial balance sheets.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High attention to detail, with strong time management and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask effectively.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $110,000 – $150,000 (dependent upon experience)

25 days in the first year

30 days annually starting on the first anniversary
