AV Specialist
Job Description
Overview
The AV Specialist is responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization’s audio-visual and conferencing environment. This role ensures seamless operation of meeting technology, event support, and multimedia systems while delivering a high level of service to internal stakeholders. The position may also provide guidance and support to other locations as needed.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver professional, user-focused support for all audio-visual and conferencing needs

Set up, operate, and dismantle AV equipment for meetings, conferences, and events

Provide day-to-day support for conference rooms and collaboration spaces

Respond promptly to urgent or unplanned support requests from the service desk

Ensure all meeting spaces are fully functional, organized, and presentation-ready

Diagnose and resolve issues related to AV hardware and systems
-
Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and event organizers to confirm technical requirements

Assist in scheduling and allocating AV resources across meetings and events

Support ongoing improvements to AV processes and user experience

Take on additional responsibilities as needed
Qualifications & Skills

Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom, Webex, or similar tools

Hands-on experience with audio-visual equipment and event technology
-
Exposure to video and audio editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro) is a plus
-
Understanding of video conferencing systems and integrated AV hardware
-
Experience with control systems such as Crestron or Extron is preferred

Basic knowledge of networking concepts and enterprise IT environments

Comfortable working with both Windows and macOS systems

Understanding of structured cabling (e.g., UTP, telephony)

Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Detail-oriented with the ability to quickly learn new technologies

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
