Overview
This role reports to the Director of Applications & Business Process and is responsible for ensuring the firm’s business applications and related server/desktop systems remain reliable, secure, and fully supported. The engineer will work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality technology solutions while fostering a culture of collaboration, service excellence, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee testing processes, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for core business software.

  • Lead the design, rollout, integration, and support of commercial desktop and server-based applications.

  • Manage end-to-end application lifecycle from planning and development through deployment and transition into production.

  • Act as a technical consultant for multi-phase application implementation projects involving multiple teams.

  • Develop detailed documentation, specifications, and operational guides as required.

  • Provide clear updates and technical insights to management and internal stakeholders.

  • Serve as an advanced-level escalation point for application-related support issues.

  • Operate as the systems engineer for firm-wide business applications, coordinating handoffs to desktop support teams as needed.

  • Apply best practices in the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, testing, and deployment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related experience.

  • Background with document management platforms (e.g., Intapp or similar) preferred.

  • Familiarity with the Intapp product suite is a plus.

  • Strong technical expertise in:

    • Microsoft operating systems and Office applications

    • Windows configuration and troubleshooting

    • Network connectivity and application performance analysis

    • SQL database environments, including queries and structure

    • Document management solutions and third-party integrations

    • Legal or business-focused commercial applications

  • Ability to balance multiple initiatives and adapt quickly to changing priorities.

  • Strong service mindset and proven ability to build positive working relationships across technical and business teams.
