Job Description


Our client is looking for a Professional Development manager to sit in either Chicago or Philadelphia supporting their litigation team!

DUTIES:
  • Collaborates with Practice Groups and Litigation Department Leadership to develop and implement legal skills training for specific audiences, e.g. first year associates, Labor & Employment Associates, new patent agents, etc.
  • Works with Director of Professional Development to identify and address training curriculum gaps for attorneys.
  • Attends monthly workflow coordinator meetings and provides input to workflow coordinators and Practice Management as needed.
  • Supervises the Professional Development Coordinator.
  • Utilizes tools, processes, and strategies to effectively support the attorney performance management processes.?Monitors evaluations, collaborates with the Evaluation Committee to facilitate the delivery of formal reviews, advises partners on specific and/or sensitive performance-related situations, and coaches attorneys on how to implement feedback received.
  • Partners with key internal departments to facilitate successful onboarding and integration of new associates, counsel, and patent agents, including leading monthly virtual lateral roundtable sessions for new hires. Conducts exit interviews of attorneys leaving the Firm.
  • Oversees Professional Development Coordinator on continuing legal education partnership with American Bar Association and partners with Marketing Events team as needed.
  • Monitors trends in professional development, including with regard to development-related technologies and tools, in order to propose new and innovative solutions that improve the attorney experience.
  • Develops strong relationships with attorneys and business professionals so as to best leverage the Professional Development team’s expertise, programs and materials.
  • Researches and identifies best practices, industry trends, new technologies, concepts, and techniques to enhance current practices.
  • Partners with Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Manager and Pro Bono Manager on strategic Firm initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned
